OLIVET, Mich. – Dave Jackson has been selected to be the next head bowling coach at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Athletic Director Ryan Shockey. Jackson will oversee both the men's and women's programs.
"I am very excited to be at Olivet College," said Jackson. "The information I have gleaned in the past makes Olivet an attractive place to work. Everybody I have met has great enthusiasm. I am going to work hard at building the bowling programs into winning ones."
Jackson comes to Olivet after more than 20 years of bowling coaching experience at nearby Charlotte High School. While there, the Orioles have been represented at the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) State Finals every year since 2007. In 2011, the Charlotte girls won their first-ever MHSAA Division II championship and was named the High School Bowling Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
Jackson is the co-owner of the Char Lanes Bowling Center in Charlotte. He is a United States Bowling Congress Silver Level Coach. Jackson currently serves as the vice president of the Lansing Youth Bowling Association and is a board member of the Charlotte Bowling Association.
"We are excited to have Coach Jackson on staff," said Shockey. "He brings a great deal of bowling knowledge to our department and is well known in the bowling community."
