Dossey named UOlivet head swimming and diving coach
OLIVET, Mich. – Megan Dossey has been named head men's and women's swimming and diving coach at The University of Olivet (UOlivet), according to an announcement by Athletic Director Haley Diringer.
"We are thrilled to welcome Megan back to the Comet family as our head swimming and diving coach," said Diringer. "As an UOlivet alumna, she is very familiar with the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and what it takes to be successful in the pool and in the classroom. I look forward to supporting Megan as she leads the program."
In 2016, Dossey graduated from UOlivet with a bachelor's degree in visual arts and concentration in graphic design and ceramics. She was a four-year letterwinner for the Comets. Dossey primarily swam in the sprint freestyle events. Out of the pool, she was a member of the art alliance and spent her free time outdoors with teammates and friends.
Since graduating from Olivet, Dossey has worked in sign and print shops as well as on the line for Ford Motor Company. At the same, she has served as both the city club and high school level for boys and girls swimming coach in her hometown of Trenton, Michigan. In 2019, Dossey started her own visual communications business where she designs for companies and individual clients.
"I am over the moon to be back at my alma mater," said Dossey. "The Olivet program provided me the chance to continue swimming at the collegiate level alongside my education and I'm excited to be able to provide our athletes with a similar experience, just now from the coaching side of the pool deck. Swimming gives athletes space to be challenged and find success at an individual level and as a community. This position is a step forward for me as a young coach as well as an opportunity to grow the Olivet swimming and diving program."
