Six student-athletes named to CSC Academic All-District® Track & Field/Cross Country Teams
OLIVET, Mich. – Six members of The University of Olivet men's and women's track & field/ cross country teams have been selected to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team. The honorees are Chris Davis and Jonathan Holloway, from the men's team, and London Eldridge, Emily Norkowski, Abbey Peters and Allyson Stevens from the women's team.
To be selected to the Academic All-District® team, the student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average. He/she must also be ranked in the top 50 regionally in one individual event (indoors or outdoors) OR finish in the top 50 in his/her respective cross country regional meet.
Davis, an exercise science major, was ranked No. 16 in the 1,500-meter run (3:54.39) and No. 43 in the 800-meter run (1:56.63) during the outdoor track & field season. In cross country, he earned All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) First Team honors.
Holloway, a business administration with financial planning and management concentration major, was 25th in the 400-meter hurdles in a school-record time of 56.12 seconds.
Eldridge, a biology with pre-medicine concentration major, posted the region's sixth-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 1:04.91. At the 2024 MIAA Field Day, she captured the league title in the 400-meter hurdles to earn All-MIAA honors for the first time in her career. Eldridge was also among the top 50 runners indoors in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.91 seconds.
Norkowski, an exercise science major, finished the year ranked No. 21 outdoors in the 100-meter hurdles (15.71) and No. 38 indoors in the 60-meter hurdles (9.81). Peters, a business management major, had the region's sixth-quickest time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, completing the race in a school-record time of 11:16.65. During the cross country season, she ran the third-fastest 6K time in school history at 23:52.9. Stevens, an insurance & risk management major, tied for 41st regionally in the high jump (1.49m / 4'10-1/2") and was 46th in the javelin (30.66m / 100'7").
Of the six, Eldridge advances to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 9. The Division III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division III Academic All-America® programs.
