Comet Classic is a success!

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College athletic department would like to thank the nearly 100 alumni and friends who participated in the 2021 Comet Classic July 16 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. These alumni and friends battled through the rain and wind to help the athletic department raise approximately $13,000.

Due to not everyone being able to finish 18 holes, a random drawing took place to determine the "top two" foursomes. The "winners" were Ashley Cole, Courtney Neering, Stefan McCoy and Stephen Sherman, and the "second-place" foursome was John C. Downey, David E. Downey, David M. Downey and Ron Schwartz.

"I would like to personally thank everyone for participating in the Comet Classic," said Olivet Athletic Director Haley Hunnewell. "Despite the rainy weather, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the fellowship with other alumni and friends. Lastly, I would also like to thank the members of our athletic staff who helped plan and coordinate the event."

To thank everyone, each person who played in the 2021 Comet Classic will receive a $20 discount on their registration fee for the 2022 Comet Classic. We will reach out to those individuals when registration opens in spring 2022.
