FEMALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Aubrey Connelly
Sport: Track & Field
Hometown / High School: Grant Twp. / Crosswell-Lexington
Accomplishments: At the MIAA-WHAC Challenge on February 13, Connelly broke the UOlivet indoor track and field record in the 600-meter run with a time of one minute and 45.39 seconds. She finished fourth of 13 runners in the race.

CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Owen Fremeau
Sport: Track & Field
Hometown / High School: Jackson / Western
Accomplishments: At the Grand Valley State University Big Friday Meet, Fremeau achieved school records in both the shot put and weight throw, placing first in the open weight throw and third in the invite shot put. Fremeau’s mark in the weight throw (63 feet, 1-1/4 inches) ranks third on the NCAA Division III Performance list, while the mark in the shot put (57 feet, 3-3/4 inches) ranks sixth on the same list.

CO-MALE COMET OF THE WEEK

Name: Darren McLeod
Sport: Wrestling
Hometown / High School: North Branch / North Branch
Accomplishments: McLeod won an 11-1 major decision over Brody Chase from Adrian College to help the wrestling team post a 34-12 team victory over the Bulldogs. The win helped Olivet secure its second straight and 16th overall MIAA championship.
