Comets of the Week - January 20, 2025

The Male Comet of the Week is sophomore Owen Fremeau, of Jackson, and graduate of Western High School. At the Central Michigan University (CMU) / Jack Skoog Open, Fremeau won the shot put and weight throw with personal best marks. His winning mark in the shot put (53 feet, 3/4 inches) was a PR by more than two meters and ranks No. 6 on the NCAA DIII Performance List. Fremeau’s mark in the weight throw (60 feet, 1/2 inch) was a PR by more than four meters and is No. 10 on the performance list. The mark in the weight throw is also an UOlivet record.

The Female Comet of the Week is senior Emily Norkowski, of Fife Lake, and graduate of Forest Area High School. Norkowski took first in the triple jump at the CMU / Jack Skoog Open. Her winning mark (33 feet, 3-1/4 inches) ranks second among Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jumpers this winter.
