Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - October 9, 2023

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is freshman Djimo Kouyate, of Ann Arbor, and graduate of Community High School. Kouyate helped the men’s soccer team post back-to-back ties to open its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule. He scored both goals in a 2-2 draw at home against Kalamazoo College and followed that with the only goal in a 1-1 tie on the road at Albion College.

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is senior Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. Mann won two events for the women’s swimming and diving team in its season-opening dual meet against Aquinas College. She took first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.98) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.87). Mann also swam the butterfly leg of the second-place 200-yard medley relay (2:01.99).
