Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - March 27, 2023

The Dean Trailways Male Comet of the Week is senior Byron Pearce, of Lansing, and graduate of Sexton High School. Pearce finished second in the hammer throw and fourth in the shot put at the Murray State (Ky.) / Margaret Simmons Invitational. Both of his throws – 149 feet, 6 inches in the hammer and 46 feet, 3/4 inches in the shot put – were personal bests.

The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is junior Ashley Santo, of Almont, and graduate of Almont High School. At the Murray State (Ky.) / Margaret Simmons Invitational, Santo placed third in the hammer throw and discus throw. In the hammer, she recorded a personal-best mark of 136 feet, 5 inches. Santo had a 119 foot, 3 inch throw in the discus.
