Dean Trailways Female Comets of the Week - March 8, 2021
This week’s Dean Trailways Co-Female Comet of the Week is junior Lillian Albaugh, of Shepherd, and graduate of Farwell High School. Albaugh won the shot put at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her winning mark of 43 feet, 7-1/4 inches was a season-best. Also by virtue of the first-place finish, Albaugh is now a four-time All-MIAA selection after winning the shot put at the indoor championships in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and outdoor championships in 2019.
This week’s Dean Trailways Co-Female Comet of the Week is freshman Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. Mann finished first in the 1,650-yard freestyle, second in the 200-yard breaststroke and third in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Swimming & Diving Championships. In addition, she helped the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays place fourth. As the 1650 free champion, Mann earns All-MIAA honors. During the prelims of the 200 breaststroke, she broke the school record with a time of 2:22.33. Her 100 split, 1:08.69, in the race is the second-fastest all-time at Olivet. The finals time in the 500 free (5:09.23) and 1650 free (17:38.36) are also second-quickest in school history.
