Bio
Four-year star in baseball, playing every inning of every game from
1908-11 and serving as captain and manager. He led in scoring in
the 1911 championship year and was invited by the late Branch
Rickey to try out for Major Leagues. However, a career in business
and banking captured him and he remains active today, holding
several corporate presidencies including the Shelby State Bank,
which he founded.
