Cross country teams finish 28th and 32nd at NCAA Great Lakes Regional
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams concluded their seasons today with 28th and 32nd-place finishes at the 2017 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University and ran at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.

POWELL, Ohio – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams concluded their seasons today with 28th and 32nd-place finishes at the 2017 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University and ran at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.
FOR THE COMET MEN (8K RUN)
- Olivet totaled 738 points, just one point behind Wittenberg (Ohio) University.
- Senior Bruce Baker placed 81st of 238 runners with a time of 27:11.9.
- Junior Brad Thomas completed the race in 28:03.00.
- Junior Mark Smith had a time of 28:17.7.
- Freshman Jaden Costa ran the race in 29:02.6.
- Sophomore James Thurman finished in 30:01.7.
- Freshman Dewan Hawthorne recorded a time of 31:08.6.
FOR THE COMET WOMEN (6K RUN)
- Olivet totaled 957 points.
- Senior Nicole Zerfas was the first Comet to cross the finish line with a time of 26:17.6.
- Freshman Morgan Greenman was next at 26:33.6.
- Seniors Nicole Gilbert and Abigail Gaines ran their final collegiate race in 27:23.1 and 27:48.9, respectively.
- Freshman Maisie Baker had a time of 27:59.0.
- Junior Jessica Taylor posted a time of 28:15.6.
