Cross country teams place 10th and 12th at Lansing CC Invitational
Led by seniors Bruce Baker and Nicole Zerfas, the Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished in 10th- and 12th-place at the Lansing Community College Invitational, held this afternoon at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The meet featured NCAA Division II and III schools, along with NAIA and NJCAA institutions.

LANSING, Mich. – Led by seniors Bruce Baker and Nicole Zerfas, the Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams finished in 10th- and 12th-place at the Lansing Community College Invitational, held this afternoon at Grand Woods Park in Lansing. The meet featured NCAA Division II and III schools, along with NAIA and NJCAA institutions.

FOR THE COMET MEN (8K RUN)
- Olivet had a total of 265 points.
- Baker placed third of 216 runners with a time of 25:40.3. The only runners to finish ahead of him were from the host school.
- Junior Mark Smith was 16th with a season-best time of 26:45.1.
- Junior Brad Thomas completed the race in a personal-best time of 28:00.0 to finish in 67th-place.
- Sophomore James Thurman also had a PR at 29:06.8.
- Freshman Jaden Costa finished in a season-best time of 29:26.0.
FOR THE COMET WOMEN (5K RUN)
- Olivet totaled 310 points.
- Zerfas placed 29th of 173 runners with a time of 20:17.3.
- Freshman Morgan Greenman was the next Comet to cross the finish line at 21:50.1.
- Senior Abigail Gaines finished the race in 21:58.6.
- Junior Nicole Gilbert had a time of 22:14.7.
UP NEXT
- Olivet will run at the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College, next Saturday, Oct. 14. The women's 6K race gets started at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 11:15 a.m.
