Women’s Volleyball: Olivet upended in three sets by Hope

OLIVET, Mich. –The University of Olivet women's volleyball team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) leader Hope College in three sets tonight inside the Cutler Event Center. The Flying Dutch entered the match ranked No. 4 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.
- Final Score: Hope defeated Hope 25-11, 25-16, 25-15

- Hope led both the first and second sets from start-to-finish.
- The Flying Dutch built a 5-1 lead early in the third set. Olivet scored the next four points on two kills and two Hope attack errors to level the score. The Flying Dutch answered with two kills before a kill by senior Morgan Dillon and two aces by senior Olivia DuFore put the Comets ahead 8-7. The teams traded points to keep Olivet ahead by one, 9-8.
- Hope responded with a 4-0 run to go up 12-9. A kill at the middle of the net by sophomore Violet Porter and an ace by freshman Abby Chapman cut Olivet's deficit down to a point, 12-11. The Flying Dutch closed the set on a 13-4 run to win it by a 25-15 final.
- For the match, Olivet totaled 26 kills and a .152 attack percentage.
- DuFore topped the attack with eight kills, followed by Dillon with five.
- Porter and junior Hayleah McFadden added four kills apiece.
- DuFore and junior Maddie Reynolds each served two aces.
- Junior Madison Johnson contributed 17 set assists.
- Reynolds and senior Emily Keeler tallied five digs apiece.
- Olivet celebrates Senior Night on Friday when it hosts Trine (Ind.) University for its final regular season match. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
