DuFore named MIAA Volleyball Player of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Senior outside hitter Olivia DuFore from The University of Olivet women's volleyball team has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week.
In Olivet's only match last week, DuFore recorded a match-high 17 kills (5.67 per set) to lead the Comets to a three-set sweep over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. She ended the match with four errors on 44 attempts for a team-leading .295 attack percentage. In addition, DuFore had nine digs.
"I am extremely happy for Olivia," said Olivet head coach Jenessa Hicks. "Despite battling through an injury over the last two seasons, she has been one of our most consistent hitters this season. Last week, I believed Olivia played one of the best matches of her career. I am excited to see how well she performs this week in her last two regular season matches. I am also proud of the way she has battled through her shoulder injury these last few years."
The Comets (12-11) play Hope College on Wednesday night before hosting Trine (Ind.) University on Friday night. Both matches at the Cutler Event Center get started at 6:30 p.m. Olivet currently sits fifth in the MIAA standings with a 3-3 record.
