BLUFFTON, Ohio – The University of Olivet women's volleyball team split two matches today at the Sommer Center Spiketacular, hosted by Bluffton (Ohio) University. The Comets fell to the host Beavers in five sets before defeating Geneva (Pa.) College in four sets. For their performances, sophomore Jaydn Cary and senior Olivia DuFore were named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Final Score: Bluffton defeated Olivet 27-25, 26-24, 22-25, 19-25, 15-13

- Records: Olivet 6-4 overall, Bluffton 4-9 overall
- The Beavers won two close sets, 27-25 and 26-24, to open the match.
- Bluffton looked poised to sweep the Comets, as it led 11-2 in the third set. The Beavers led 21-17 before Olivet ended the set on an 8-1 run to win 25-22.
- The fourth set saw Bluffton go ahead 12-8. The Comets scored seven of the next eight points for a 15-13 lead. The Beavers came back to level the score at 15-15 and 16-16. Olivet closed the set on a 9-3 run for a 25-19 victory.
- Bluffton scored the first five points of the fifth set before the Comets scored the next eight points. Olivet stretched its lead to three points, 12-9. Four consecutive Beaver points gave them the lead 13-12. A kill for the Comets tied the score before two Olivet attack errors ended the set and match.
- Olivet totaled 69 kills and 10 service aces in the match compared to 61 kills and five aces for the Beavers. Bluffton had 14 less attack errors for the difference in the match.
- Five Comets reached double digits in kills, led by junior Hayleah McFadden's 16.
- DuFore was next with 15 kills.
- Senior Morgan Dillon and junior Abi Nunez each tallied 13 kills, followed by sophomore Violet Porter with 10.
- Junior Teagan Giannunzio posted a team-best 57 set assists and 22 digs.
- Senior Emily Keeler collected 18 digs, followed by DuFore (17),Cary (15) and junior Maddie Reynolds (13).
- Final Score: Olivet defeated Geneva 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 25-18

- McFadden and Nunez each finished with 13 kills.
- Dillon and Porter had seven kills apiece.

- The Comets host Anderson (Ind.) University next Wednesday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m.
