Volleyball: Olivet loses to Wis.-Whitewater and Coe

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Olivet College volleyball team lost in three sets to the host Warhawks and Coe (Iowa) College today at the second day of the University of Wis.-Whitewater Dig Panici Classic in Whitewater, Wis.
Wis.-Whitewater, ranked No. 23 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll, cruised to a 25-14, 25-18 and 25-13 win. The Comets were led by senior Stefanie Lang, as she had seven kills and four blocks.
Junior Marissa Guile and sophomore Ashlee Roussey each doled out four kills. Freshman Allison Turner recorded five assisted blocks. As a team, Olivet had nine total blocks. Senior Taylor Pringle finished with 11 set assists. Sophomore Mona Hinamanu led the defense with 10 digs.
Coe won by scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-14. Lang contributed six kills. Pringle added nine set assists and 11 digs. Hinamanu topped the team with 16 digs.
Olivet will play their final two matches of the season next week. On Tuesday night, the Comets travel down I-69 to play Trine (Ind.) University, and on Friday night, they host Calvin College. Both matches have a 6:30 p.m. start time.
