OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College volleyball match vs. Hope College on Oct. 14 has been designated as a Zero Waste Match. Senior Josh Kofflin has been the organizer of the event. In addition, members of the women's golf team and the campus organization, Earthbound, will be assisting him with this initiative.
The purpose of the Zero Waste project is to recycle, compost, reuse or donate any materials used during the match. Fans will be asked to place their recyclables such as hard plastics, game programs and other papers inside the blue and green bins at The Cutler Event Center during the match. You are also encouraged to wear green to the match.
"This Zero Waste match gives us the opportunity to promote recycling and sustainability awareness on and off the campus," said Kofflin. "We are also following the principle, 'I am responsible for contributing to the quality of the physical environment' of the Olivet College Compact."
