Volleyball team swept by Hope in three sets
The Olivet College volleyball team was swept by Hope College in three sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-13) this afternoon at the DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland.

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College volleyball team was swept by Hope College in three sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-13) this afternoon at the DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland.
The Comets scored the first point of the opening set, but after that it was all Flying Dutch. The second set was tied at 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 and 4-4 before Hope went on a 3-0 scoring spurt to take a lead, which it did not relinquish. The third set was similar to the second with ties at 2-2, 3-3 and 4-4. The Flying Dutch scored two consecutive points to take the lead for good.
For the match, Olivet totaled 21 kills. Senior Stefanie Lang finished with eight kills, while junior Emma Brann had six. Junior Taylor Pringle dished out 12 set assists. Junior Megan VanderVlucht led the defense with nine digs.
The Comets are back in action next Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they host MIAA leader and No. 1 ranked Calvin College at 6:30 p.m.
