Volleyball team splits two matches at DePauw Invitational
The Olivet College volleyball team split two matches today at the DePauw University Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana. The Comets started the day by losing in three sets (27-25, 25-19, 25-16) to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.). Olivet then bounced back to sweep Concordia University Chicago 25-20, 25-17 and 25-16.

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Olivet College volleyball team split two matches today at the DePauw University Invitational in Greencastle, Indiana. The Comets started the day by losing in three sets (27-25, 25-19, 25-16) to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.). Olivet then bounced back to sweep Concordia University Chicago 25-20, 25-17 and 25-16.
For her efforts, senior Tina Westendorp (Nashville/Maple Valley) was one of six players to be named to the all-tournament team.
Against Rose-Hulman, junior Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) had a team-leading 13 kills with two errors on 25 attempts for a .440 hitting percentage. Freshman Danielle Bearden (Goodrich) recorded a match-high 24 set assists. Freshman Mona Hinamanu (Okemos/Mason) topped the defense with 19 digs.
No stats from the match against Concordia are available at this time.
The Comets resume Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Tuesday night when they travel to play Adrian College at 6:30 p.m.
