Volleyball team drops three-set match to #11 Calvin
The Olivet College volleyball team dropped a three-set match to nationally-ranked Calvin College tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet. The Knights, ranked #11 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association of America poll, won by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.

Junior Ellen Schulz (Freeland) led the Comet front row with six kills, followed by sophomore Kendra Cavin (Jackson/Hanover-Horton) senior Kim Travis (Shepherd) with five apiece. Freshman Chelsea Guzikowski (Reed City) and junior Jenessa Hicks (Union City) each dished out 10 set assists. Sophomore Mallory Schug (Climax/Galesburg-Augusta) topped the defense with 10 digs.
Olivet will take the rest of the week off from competition and prepare for a stretch of three matches in four days next week. On Tuesday, the Comets will travel to play Trine (Ind.) University, followed by a home match Thursday against Alma College and a match at Adrian College Friday. All of the matches will get under way at 6:30 p.m.
