Women’s Track and Field: Olivet wins Comet Triangular

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's outdoor track and field team took first-place at the 2024 Comet Triangular today at the Cutler Athletic Complex and on Kolassa Track. The Comets totaled 129 points to edge Adrian College by five points. Cleary University was third with 31 points.
- The 4x100-meter relay team of junior London Eldridge, senior Alex DeVault, freshman Morgan Jeffries and senior Lily Connelly broke the school record with a time of 50.69 seconds.
- The 4x400-meter quartet of freshman Aubrey Connelly, Lily Connelly, senior Tonya Tepin and senior Allyson Stevens ran the fastest time at 4:19.50.
- Jeffries had the fastest time in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Her winning time, 13.24 seconds, in the 100 ranks seventh all-time at Olivet, while she clocked-in at 27.49 seconds in the 200.
- In the 400-meter dash, Connelly was first (1:01.50), followed by Tepin in second (1:04.23).
- Junior Emily Norkowski led a 1-2 Comet finish in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time was 15.84 seconds, while Eldridge was second with a personal-best time of 15.90 seconds.
- Eldridge finished second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 27.69 seconds.
- Junior Berniah Alexander had the top throw in the shot put (34 feet, 10-1/2 inches) and second-best toss in the discus (100 feet, 7 inches).
- Freshman Ellie Baynes won the triple jump (29 feet, 10 inches) and was second in the long jump (14 feet, 6 inches). The triple jump is fifth best in school history, while the long jump mark is 10th-best.
- Stevens took first in the high jump (4 feet, 10-1/2 inches) and second in the javelin (88 feet, 1 inch). The high jump clearance ranks sixth in school history.
- Freshman Alyson Senish had the top mark in the javelin (88 feet, 1 inch).
- Also, in the high jump, freshman Joey Wilson placed second (4 feet, 9-1/2 inches).
- Olivet competes at the Davenport University Invitational next Friday and Saturday, April 12-13.
