Jolliff wins pole vault, women’s indoor track and field team finishes sixth at MIAA Championships
ANGOLA, Ind. – Senior Gabby Jolliff won the pole vault title to help the Olivet College women’s indoor track and field team place sixth at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. Trine (Ind.) University hosted the championships inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. The Comets totaled 40 points and was only 2.5 points behind fifth-place Adrian College. Hope College won the MIAA championship with 211 points.

ANGOLA, Ind. – Senior Gabby Jolliff won the pole vault title to help the Olivet College women's indoor track and field team place sixth at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. Trine (Ind.) University hosted the championships inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. The Comets totaled 40 points and was only 2.5 points behind fifth-place Adrian College. Hope College won the MIAA championship with 211 points.
- Jolliff won the pole vault, clearing the bar 10 feet, 10 inches. The mark tied the MIAA Indoor Championships record.
- Competing in the triple jump for the first time in her collegiate career, sophomore Emily Norkowski finished second with a 33 feet, 8-3/4 inch mark. She also placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.79) and seventh in the long jump (14 feet, 11-1/2 inches).
- Sophomore London Eldridge was sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.71) and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.88).
- The distance medley relay team of freshman Sarah Grove, sophomore Abbey Peters, and juniors Allyson Stevens and Tonya Tepin had the fourth-fastest time at 13:30.48. The time also broke the school record.
- Eldridge, Norkowski, Stevens and Tepin posted the sixth fastest 4x400-meter relay time at 4:25.90.
- Junior Ashley Santos scored seventh-place points with a 43 feet, 1/4 inch heave in the weight throw.
- The Comets are planning to send some student-athletes to last chance meets next weekend.
