Five Olivet College student-athletes earn 2022 All-MIAA Indoor Track & Field honors
FREELAND, Mich. – Five Olivet College student-athletes have earned 2022 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track & Field honors. The All-MIAA teams are made up of the individual event winners and members of winning relays at the MIAA Championship.
FREELAND, Mich. – Five Olivet College student-athletes have earned 2022 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Indoor Track & Field honors. The All-MIAA teams are made up of the individual event winners and members of winning relays at the MIAA Championship.
Selected to the All-MIAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Team is senior Lillian Albaugh. On the All-MIAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Team are sophomores Hayden Germain and Hunter Hillard, and junior Chase Mendham and Zac Schneck.
Albaugh won the MIAA title in the shot put with a season-best mark of 42 feet, 11-1/2 inches. With her selection, she is the first female track and field athlete to be a four-time All-MIAA selection, as she also earned All-MIAA indoor track & field honors in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Overall, Lillian is a six-time MIAA champion in the shot put, as she also won the shot put at the 2019 and 2021 outdoor championship.
Germain, Hillard, Mendham and Schneck captured the MIAA title in the distance medley relay with a winning time of 10:45.63. The distance medley relay is made up of 1,200-meter leg, a 400-meter leg, an 800-meter leg and a 1,600-meter leg in that order to give a total distance run of 4,000 meters. The order for the Comets was Mendham, Schneck, Hillard and Germain.
