Women’s indoor track and field team opens season at Doug Hansen Open

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Olivet College women's indoor track and field team opened its season today at the Doug Hansen Open, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
- Senior Lillian Albaugh finished third in the shot put with 41 feet, 5-inch toss. Her mark only trailed an unattached athlete and a student-athlete from SVSU. She also placed eighth overall but second among NCAA Division III student-athletes in the weight throw (40 feet, 4-3/4 inches).
- Junior Gabby Jolliff cleared the high jump bar at 4 feet, 9-1/2 inches to place fourth overall but first among four NCAA DIII student-athletes.
- Freshman London Eldridge was the fastest of three Olivet runners in the 60-meter dash, clocking-in at 8.62 seconds.
- Freshman Abbey Peters placed second among eight NCAA DIII runners in the mile run, recording a time of 5:47.75.
- Eldridge and freshman Emily Norkowski advanced to the finals of the 60-meter hurdles. Norkowski ran the prelims in 9.86 seconds before running 9.95 seconds in the finals. Eldridge had a 10.16 second prelim time and 10.26 second finals time.
- Olivet competes at the Wittenberg (Ohio) University / Steemer Showcase next Saturday, January 29.
