Indoor track and field student-athletes have success at GVSU “Big Meet”
ALLENDALE, Mich. – A select group of Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track and field student-athletes participated in the 2020 Grand Valley State University “Big Meet,” held today inside the Kelly Family Sports Center.

ALLENDALE, Mich. – A select group of Olivet College men's and women's indoor track and field student-athletes participated in the 2020 Grand Valley State University "Big Meet," held today inside the Kelly Family Sports Center.
- The top performance was turned in by the 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Jordon Brown, junior Tyler Peck, senior Noah Bailey and sophomore Kyle McDowell. The quartet broke the school record with a time of 3:18.63. The converted time of 3:21.81 ranks No. 9 on the NCAA Division III Indoor performance list.
- McDowell also set a school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.88 seconds.
- Peck achieved a personal-best time of 1:23.60 in the 600-meter run. His time was seventh-fastest of 41 runners in the race.
- Posting season-best performances were:
- Noah Bailey in the long jump (22 feet, 2-1/2 inches) and triple jump (46 feet, 2 inches). The mark in the long jump placed him third of 21 competitors.
- Jacob Smith in the shot put (52 feet, 8-3/4 inches).
- Noah Spiece in the 600-meter run (1:25.50)
- To qualify for a season-best mark, the student-athlete must have competed in the event in at least one other meet this season.
- Sophomore Kaylee Richardson ran the 5,000-meter run indoors for the first time in her Comet career, and finished the race in 20:26.31.
- Using a new technique, sophomore Lillian Albaugh had a mark of 39 feet, 9-1/4 inches in the shot put.
- Olivet is in action at the Hillsdale College Tune-up next Saturday, Feb. 22.
