NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Olivet College track athletes Bruce Baker, Connor Bauserman and Isabelle Leon competed tonight in the 800-meter run at the Dr. Keeler Invitational, hosted by North Central (Ill.) College.
Leon had the most success for the Comets, as she completed the race in a school-record time of 2:20.01. Bauserman competed in hopes of improving his season-best time to move up on the NCAA Division III Championship Performance list. His time of 1:52.04 was seventh-fastest of the 110 runners in the event, but it was four-hundredths slower than his season-best time of 1:52.00. Baker was looking to run a time under two minutes. Unfortunately, he just missed that goal with a time of 2:00.27.
Bauserman will likely return to North Central next Thursday, May 18, for the Gregory Final Qualifier. Running events will get started at 4:45 p.m. CT.
