Track and field teams place seventh at 125th MIAA Field Day
The Olivet College men’s and women’s track & field teams finished in seventh-place at the 125th MIAA Field Day, held at the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's track & field teams finished in seventh-place at the 125th Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, held at the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. The Comet women had 32 points the final team standings and the Olivet men totaled 26 points. Calvin College successfully defended its men's and women's titles.
WOMEN'S TEAM
- Freshman Kimberly Barber scored points in three individual events. She had her best mark on the last attempt, leaping a school-record distance of 10.46m/34'4" to finish in seventh-place in the triple jump. Barber also finished in fifth-place in the 200-meter dash (:26.88) and sixth in the 100-meter dash (:12.95).
- Junior Allyson Schultz was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:48.34.
- Sophomore Isabelle Leon placed seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.91.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of Barber, Leon, Lauren Easton and Brianna Wilesclocked-in with a fourth-place time of 4:16.38.
MEN'S TEAM
- Sophomore Bruce Baker had the men's best performance on the track, placing fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:05.76. He also finished in seventh-place in the 5,000-meter run at 15:55.25.
- Also scoring points in the 1,500-meter were senior Tyler Britten in seventh-place (4:09.30) and junior Blake Wilson in eighth-place (4:10.01).
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Calus White, Miquel Marin, Travon Tatum andNicholas Yeck was fifth in 46.16 seconds.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of Britten, Marin, Andrico Mason and Nicholas Roberge-Ferris placed seventh in 3:37.10.
- Sophomore Mitchell Smith posted Olivet's best performance in the field events, finishing in fifth-place in the discus throw with a toss of 39.71m/130'3".
