Women’s track & field: Olivet finishes in seventh-place at 2015 MIAA Field Day
The Olivet College women’s track & field team finished in seventh-place at the 2015 (MIAA Field Day, held at Albion College’s Elkin Isaac Track.
ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women's track & field team finished in seventh-place at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, held at Albion College's Elkin Isaac Track.
The Comets ended the two-day meet with 29.66 points. Calvin captured the team title with 286.50 points. Hope was a distant second with 194.83 points, followed by Alma, 90; Adrian, 67; Albion, 57; and Trine (Ind.), 49.
Olivet had two runners finish in the top eight of the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Rachael Durocher placed sixth in 13.37 seconds, and senior Cassie Ciaravino was seventh in 13.45 seconds. Freshman Isabelle Leon finished in seventh-place points in the 1,500-meter run with a school-record time of 4:56.52. Ciaravino scored eighth-place points in the 100-meter hurdles.
The Comets' 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Jessica D'Haene, Ciaravino, Durocher and Leon crossed the finish line in fifth-place with a time of 4:21.21. The 4x100-meter relay quartet of Durocher, Ciaravino, freshman Dallas Austin and junior Danielle Hoffman placed sixth in 52.63 seconds.
