Women’s tennis team, five players receive ITA academic honors
The Olivet College women’s tennis team and five players have received academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in 2017-18.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Olivet College women's tennis team and five players have received academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in 2017-18.
Under the leadership of head coach Andrew Debruyn, the Comets had a 3.323 grade point average (GPA) to earn the ITA All-Academic team award. This award is given annually to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 or higher.
The five players garnering ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades are Rae Claramunt, Rachael Hager, Nicole Losey, Miranda Pier and Sydnie Weller. The criteria for selection is be a varsity letterwinner, have at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year, and enrolled at present school for at least two semesters.
Hager is now a three-time recipient of the award, while Claramunt, Pier and Weller are receiving it for a second straight year.
