Women’s tennis team falls to Saint Mary’s, 7-2
The Olivet College women’s tennis team fell to MIAA rival Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College, 7-2, this afternoon at the South Bend Racquet Club in South Bend, Indiana.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Olivet College women's tennis team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 7-2, this afternoon at the South Bend Racquet Club in South Bend, Indiana.
The Comets won one match in each doubles and singles play. In doubles, the No. 1 duo of freshman Rachael Hager and sophomore Maddy Drikakis claimed an 8-5 victory. Also in doubles, the No. 3 team of junior Isabel Snyder and senior Lydia Drikakis lost a close 9-7 decision.
Maddy Drikakis earned Olivet's point in singles play with a 6-2, 6-4 straight set victory at the No. 2 position. Also at No. 1 singles, Hager lost the first set 6-4 but bounced back to win the second set 6-4 to force a match tie-breaker, which she lost 11-9. At No. 3 singles, sophomore Haley Powers lost in three sets. She won the first set 6-4 before losing the next two by identical 6-3 scores.
The Comets are now off until Tuesday, April 12, when they play a 4 p.m. match at Adrian College.
