Women’s tennis team opens MIAA play with 9-0 loss to Kalamazoo
The Olivet College women’s tennis team opened its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule with a 9-0 loss to Kalamazoo College this afternoon inside the Markin Center in Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team opened its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) schedule with a 9-0 loss to Kalamazoo College this afternoon inside the Markin Center in Kalamazoo.
The Hornets rolled through doubles play, losing on three total games in 8-0, 8-1 and 8-2 wins. The winning continued in singles play, as Kalamazoo won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights, and 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 3 flight.
Senior Jeanette Fisher won the first set, 6-4, over Maya Srkalovic at No. 6 singles. Srkalovic came back to win the second set 6-2 to force a match tie-breaker, which she also won 10-8. Sophomore BreAnne Rudlaff lost her two sets by identical 6-4 scores at the No. 4 slot.
The Comets host Alma College Sunday afternoon at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek, starting at 1 p.m.
