Women’s tennis: Olivet loses to Trine, 6-3
The Olivet College women’s tennis team closed out the home portion of its schedule with a 6-3 loss to Trine (Ind.) University today at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team closed out the home portion of its schedule with a 6-3 loss to Trine (Ind.) University today at the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek.
The Comets took an early 2-1 lead after winning 2-of-3 doubles flights. The No. 1 tandem of freshmen Blake Day and Maddy Drikakis claimed an 8-3 pro-set win. The No. 2 duo of freshmen Haley Powers and BreAnne Rudlaff won an 8-5 pro-set to improve to 6-6 on the season.
Drikakis picked-up Olivet's only point in singles play, with a 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 1 spot. Powers and junior Lucy McNally lost hard-fought, three-set matches at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
The Comets will play their final two matches of the season on the road next week – a 4 p.m. match Friday at Hope College and an 11 a.m. match Saturday at Calvin College.
