Women’s tennis: Comets lose to Alma, 5-4
The Olivet College women’s tennis team fell to Alma College, 5-4, in a MIAA match this afternoon at the Stone Recreation Center in Alma.

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's tennis team fell to Alma College, 5-4, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match this afternoon at the Stone Recreation Center in Alma.
The Comets earned one point in doubles play, where the No. 2 duo of freshmen Haley Powers and BreAnne Rudlaff walked off the court with an 8-6 pro-set victory. Junior Lucy McNally and sophomore Isabel Snyder lost a close 8-6 pro-set at No. 3 doubles.
Olivet and Alma split the six singles flights. Winning for the Comets were Powers won both sets by identical 6-3 scores for a straight-set victory at the No. 3 position. McNally won 6-4 and 6-1 at No. 5 singles. With the outcome of the match decided, senior Devan Thomas claimed a 10-8 pro-set win at No. 6 singles.
The Comets plays two league matches this weekend at Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek. On Saturday, Olivet faces Saint Mary's (Ind.) College and on Sunday match, it will play Kalamazoo College. Both matches will start at 1 p.m.
