Swimming & Diving: Olivet competes at Malone Invitational; Mann wins 400 IM and 200 breast

CANTON, Ohio – The University of Olivet men's and women's swimming & diving teams participated in the 2023 Malone University Invitational at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio. The Comet women placed eighth of 12 schools with 673 points, while the men were ninth of 14 schools with 667 points.
- Senior Jennifer Mann won the 400-yard individual medley (4:38.94) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.35) and took second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.71). Her winning time in the 400 IM was nearly 18 seconds faster than the runner-up finisher, while she lost the 500 by less than one second.
- Freshman Nadia Schnitzel placed third in the 1-meter diving with a total of 227.55 points which ranks sixth all-time in school history.
- Also, in the 400 IM, freshman Sophia Spahr was sixth (5:14.78).
- Sophomore Bridgette Shroll placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.42) and eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.30).
- The 800-yard freestyle team of Shroll, Mann, Spahr and freshman Kelsie Lawson posted a sixth-place finish (8:32.15).
- Senior Landon Morgan finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.07) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.21), and 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.29).
- Junior Seth Kading was 12th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.46).
- Junior Treyton Gabrielson scored 15th-place points in the 400-yard individual medley (4:43.45).
- Olivet's next scheduled meet is a non-conference dual at home against Bethel (Ind.) University, starting at 1 p.m. inside the Upton Center Pool.
