Swimming & Diving: Olivet begins season with losses to Aquinas

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's and women's swimming and diving teams started their 2023-24 seasons by hosting Aquinas College at the Upton Center Pool. The men lost 167-58, and the women fell 156-50.
- Final Scores: Men – Aquinas defeated Olivet, 167-58; Women – Aquinas defeated Olivet, 156-50

- Senior Jennifer Mann won the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.98) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.87).
- Junior Mya Kinnunen swam to a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.30).
- Sophomore Bridgette Shroll placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.90) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.04).
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Kinnunen, Shroll, Mann and freshman Sophia Spahr was second (2:01.99).
- Senior Landon Morgan was the lone vent winner for the Comets, as he took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:0.35). He also placed second in the 100-yard butterfly (57.64).
- Junior Treyton Gabrielson finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.80) and third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:33.66).
- Senior Carter Moore was third in second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.39) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (52.02).
- Junior Seth Kading posted a pair of third-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (2:06.75) and 100-yard backstroke (59.62).
- The Comets are back in the pool next Friday, October 13, for a non-conference double dual meet at Anderson (Ind.) University. Manchester (Ind.) University is the other school participating in the meet. Action at the Bennett Natatorium gets under way at 6 p.m.
