Women’s swimming team splits non-conference double dual at Bethel

ELKHART, Ind. – The Olivet College women’s swimming team posted a 1-1 record in a non-conference double dual meet against Bethel (Ind.) and Manchester (Ind.) universities this afternoon at the Elkhart Aquatic Center. The Comets defeated Manchester, 166-79, but fell to the host Pilots, 179-75.

ELKHART, Ind. – The Olivet College women's swimming team posted a 1-1 record in a non-conference double dual meet against Bethel (Ind.) and Manchester (Ind.) universities this afternoon at the Elkhart Aquatic Center. The Comets defeated Manchester, 166-79, but fell to the host Pilots, 179-75.

  • Junior Jennifer Mann took first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.40) and 200-yard individual medley (2:18.35), and was second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:44.43).
  • Freshman Bridgette Shroll was second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.58).
  • Freshman Sarah Steffens placed second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.69) and 100-yard butterfly (1:03.61).
  • Junior Erin Sanders finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (3:09.45).
  • Recording third-place finishes were Shroll in the 50-yard freestyle (27.11) and 500-yard freestyle (5:32.06), Steffens in the 200-yard backstroke (2:23.65) and freshman Makaila Dodd in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.09).
  • The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Steffens, freshman Kelsee Lawson, sophomore Jordan Kruskie and Mann was second (4:08.01).

  • Olivet closes out its dual meet schedule next Saturday, January 28, at Albion College.
