Olivet swimming & diving teams garner Scholar All-America Team honors from CSCAA
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams received Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 2019 fall semester.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams received Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 2019 fall semester.
The Scholar All-America team award is given to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is awarded twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
Under the guidance of third-year head coach Rob Brownell, the Comet women posted a 3.50 team cumulative grade point average and the Olivet men had a cumulative team GPA of 3.44. The men's GPA ranked 22nd among the 120 NCAA Division III teams honored, and was first among the six Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schools who sponsor swimming and diving. The women's team was 61st of 183 NCAA Division III programs honored, and third of the six MIAA schools. The Comets have earned this honor in each of the five semesters during Brownell's tenure as head coach.
