Swimming & diving teams host Hillsdale and Tiffin
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams hosted Hillsdale College and Tiffin (Ohio) University for a non-conference double dual meet tonight inside the Upton Center Pool in Olivet. The Comet women defeated Tiffin, 129-40, but fell to Hillsdale, 147-57. The Olivet men dropped a 137-74 decision to Tiffin.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams hosted Hillsdale College and Tiffin (Ohio) University for a non-conference double dual meet tonight inside the Upton Center Pool in Olivet. The Comet women defeated Tiffin, 129-40, but fell to Hillsdale, 147-57. The Olivet men dropped a 137-74 decision to Tiffin.

- Junior Abbie Slater won the diving competitions. She scored a personal-best 197.90 points on the three-meter and just missed a personal-best on the one-meter with 187.20 points.
- Senior Sabrina Butler placed second in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 58.50 seconds.
- Freshman Kayla Eichaker finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.82.
- Third-place performances were by Sabrina Butler in the 50-yard freestyle (:26.76), senior Samantha Butler in the 200-yard backstroke (2:33.29) and sophomore Keanalanimeleo'kekai Kunz in the 200-yard individual medley (2:40.87) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:59.13).
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Samantha Butler, Kunz, Eichaker and senior Delaney Graham was second with a time of 1:59.65.
- The lone event winner was turned in by junior Dalton Miner in the one-meter diving with 255.75 points. He also placed second on the three-meter diving board with 247.70 points.
- Junior Tom Decker finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.32 seconds.
- Freshman Cade Erickson took second in both distance freestyle events, stopping the clock at 5:12.48 in the 500 and 10:51.05 in the 1,000.
- Freshman Zachary Knott placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.83 seconds.
- Senior Bryan Plesner was second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:43.95.
- Junior Eric Wood claimed second-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.23) and 200-yard backstroke (2:04.35).
- The 200-yard medley relay quartet of Wood, Knott, Plesner and junior Zach Meharg finished second in 1:43.95.
- The 200-yard freestyle team of Decker, sophomore Kolton Epplett, freshman Brandon Burks and Erickson touched the wall second in 1:37.36.
- Olivet rests tonight and is back in the pool tomorrow for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meet at Calvin College. Action at the Venema Aquatic Center gets started at 1 p.m.
