Swimming & diving: Comets compete in 800 free relay at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams started competition at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships tonight at the Holland Aquatic Center.
HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams started competition at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships tonight at the Holland Aquatic Center.
The 800 freestyle relay was the only event in today's first night of competition. The men's quartet of Derek Beslock, Zach Gray, Taylor Howard and Trey Jennings placed sixth with a time of 7:32.92. The women's team of Emma Cole, Megan Dossey, Jazmin Johnson and Nicole Zerfas was also sixth with a time of 8:17.13. Both times were season-bests for the Comets.
Action continues tomorrow morning with prelims in five swimming events (200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and 400 medley relay) starting at 10 a.m., and finals in those same events plus the men's one meter diving and women's three-meter diving at 5:30 p.m.
