HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Thunder took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute off a free kick.
- Essen leveled the score less than 10 minutes later after receiving a pass from senior Isabelle Leon.
- The score remained 1-0 at halftime.
- The Comets took a 2-1 lead, as Leon fed Essen for the goal in the 78th minute.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet finished the game with a 20-11 advantage in shots attempted.
- Essen led the way with six shots, while Leon and freshman Chelsie Smith each had four.
- Freshman Samantha Gifford earned her first win in goal.
FOR THE THUNDER
- Marisa Robinett scored the goal. She also recorded a team-high four shots.
- Kristina Veljovic played all 90 minutes in goal and stopped nine shots.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Essen has 10 goals and five assists for 25 points this season. Those totals exceed her previous two seasons combined.
- Leon has at least one point in each of the Comets' 10 wins this season.
- With her two assists, Leon moved into a tie for second all-time at Olivet with 23 career helpers. She needs three to tie and four to become the all-time leader.
