Leon’s two goals lead women’s soccer team to 3-0 win at Saint Mary’s
Senior Isabelle Leon scored two goals, as the Olivet College women’s soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-0 victory over Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College tonight at the Purcell Athletic Fields in Notre Dame, Indiana.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior Isabelle Leon scored two goals, as the Olivet College women's soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-0 victory over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College tonight at the Purcell Athletic Fields in Notre Dame, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After recording the first seven shots in the game, the Comets got on the scoreboard when Leon found the back of the net in the 25th minute. Junior Emma Essen played a through ball to the feet of Leon who took two touches and sent a low shot past the keeper.
- Olivet stretched its lead to 2-0 on a goal by Essen after receiving a pass from sophomore Abby Radcliffe in the in the 66th minute.
- Leon scored her second goal of the game in the 80th minute. Sophomore Maya Prewitt and senior Dominique Giroux were each given an assist on the goal.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet dominated the stat sheet, out-shooting the Belles, 26-7.
- Essen led the way with seven shots, including six on-goal.
- Leon took six shots.
- Freshman Brooklyn Holley earned the shutout win in goal, making seven saves.
FOR THE BELLES
- Saint Mary's averaged three goals in its first two games, with McKenna O'Shea scoring all six goals.
- O'Shea was limited to four of the seven Belles' shots.
- Thailia Robles collected 14 saves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Comets have now allowed a goal in 258 minutes and 18 seconds of game time.
- Olivet has now won five straight games against the Belles, and have out-scored them 13-4 in that stretch.
- With her two goals, Leon moved into fourth on the Comets' all-time scoring list with 93 points (38 goals and 17 assists).
