Women’s soccer team loses to Kalamazoo, 3-1, in season-finale
The Olivet College women’s soccer team ended its season with a 3-1 loss to Kalamazoo College today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. –The Olivet College women's soccer team ended its season with a 3-1 loss to Kalamazoo College today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hornets led 2-0 at halftime behind two goals by Madeleine Chilcote in a span of little less than three minutes. The first came directly off a corner kick 13 minutes into the game and the second was off a pass from Emma Tardiff in the 16th minute.
- Chilcote and Tardiff reversed roles in the 57th minute to put Kalamazoo ahead 3-0. Tardiff scored the goal, and Chilcote provided the helper.
- The Comets broke up the shutout with 6:14 left in the game. Freshman Abby Radcliffe blasted a shot from 26 yards out after receiving a pass from junior Isabelle Leon.
FOR THE COMETS
- In defeat, Olivet recorded 12 shots.
- Junior Emily Reinecke had a team-best three shots.
- Leon, sophomore Emma Essen and freshman Ashley Romanowski each registered two shots.
- Freshman Brooklyn Burel played all 90 minutes in goal and made 10 saves.
FOR THE HORNETS
- Tardiff collected eight of the 19 Kalamazoo shots. Five of the shots were placed on-goal.
- Chilcote contributed four shots.
- Grace Smith finished with six saves.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Leon led the Comets in scoring this season with 36 points (15 goals and six assists), which is fifth-most in school history for a single-season. The 15 goals is seventh-most for a season.
- Leon will enter her senior season with 85 career points (35 goals and 15 assists). The 35 goals and 85 points currently stand fifth all-time at Olivet.
