NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Junior Isabelle Leon recorded a hat trick to power the Olivet College women's soccer team over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 7-3, this afternoon at the Purcell Athletic Field in Notre Dame, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Belles took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the fifth minute.
- Leon leveled the score at 1-1 with her first goal in the 13th minute.
- Junior Emily Reinecke put Olivet up 2-1 with a goal in the 32nd minute.
- Saint Mary's drew even in the ninth minute of the second half when Liza Felix made a penalty kick goal.
- Leon gave the lead to Olivet a little less than five minutes later on a goal. Junior Miranda Quick earned an assist on the goal.
- Sophomore Emma Essen extended the Comets' lead to 4-2 when she blasted a shot from 35 yards out into the goal in the 62nd minute.
- Freshman Ashley Romanowski put Olivet up 5-2 on a penalty kick goal in 72nd minute.
- The Belles made the score 5-3 at the 78:34 mark.
- Leon completed her hat trick less than two minutes later after receiving a pass in the slot from Essen.
- A long shot by Quick found the back of the net two and one-half minutes later.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet took 31 shots in the contest.
- Romanowski and Leon led the way with eight shots each. Essen had seven shots.
- Freshman Brooklyn Burel played the whole game in goal and made three saves on eight shots for Saint Mary's.
FOR THE BELLES
- Mary Wandor had three of the eight Belles' shots.
- Thaillia Robles collected nine saves in 90 minutes of action in goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Leon's hat trick is the second of her career. The other was on Aug. 29, 2014, against Alverno (Wis.) College.
- Leon moved into a tie for fifth all-time at Olivet for career goals with 25. Her 61 points is fourth all-time.
- The goal by Quick is the first of her collegiate career.
- The seven goals scored by the Comets is the most in a MIAA contest since Oct. 11, 2008, when they also had seven versus Trine.
