Women’s soccer: Comets lose 4-2 to Albion
The Olivet College women’s soccer team was never able to recover from a 2-0 deficit, as Albion defeated the Comets, 4-2, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was never able to recover from a 2-0 deficit, as Albion defeated the Comets, 4-2, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
Molly Hancock scored back-to-back goals for the Britons in a short span near with 14 and 12 minutes left in the first half. Olivet got one goal back with eight minutes remaining when junior Augusta Kummer scored off a pass from freshman Isabelle Leon.
Albion stretched its lead back to two goals, 3-1, with a goal in the 20th minute of the second stanza. The Comets responded by trimming its deficit back to one, 3-2, after junior Jeanette Fisher placed a free kick into the back of the goal in the 67th minute. The score stayed that way until the Britons scored their final goal with 15 seconds remaining in the contest.
Six different Olivet players recorded a shot in the loss, with five being placed on-frame. Junior Deanna Zolnoski collected four saves.
The Comets travel to play Adrian College next Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
