Olivet College’s Zachos earns Academic All-District honors
Olivet College senior soccer player Justine Zachos (Charlotte/Fowlerville) has earned 2010 ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District IV honors. She is a second-team selection.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Olivet College senior soccer player Justine Zachos (Charlotte/Fowlerville) has earned 2010 ESPN The Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District IV honors. She is a second-team selection.
Zachos has a 3.50 GPA in biology and pre-medicine. A captain for the women's soccer team, she started all 20 games at defender. She did not score any points, but her defensive efforts helped Olivet finish the season with a 13-5-1 record. The 13 wins were the third most in school history for a single season and most since 1999 when the Comets had a 14-4-1 record.
The Academic All-America® program recognizes student-athletes who have succeeded in athletic competition and in the classroom. The members of the All-District IV teams are selected by sports information directors in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30.
