GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team team and six players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
With a 3.522 grade point average (GPA), the team was named to the 2015 IWLCA/Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Squad. To be eligible, the team must maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year. The Comets, who were one of 129 NCAA Division III schools to earn the award, also received the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Team GPA award earlier this summer.
In addition, six individuals -- Cecila Bayne, Devin Blue, Jessica Doster, Brittany Hayes, Geri Merrell and Mckenzie Skiendziel -- were selected to the 2015 IWLCA/Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. These six student-athletes were among 404 from 128 different institutions to earn this honor. To be eligible, the student-athlete must have achieved junior status academically and have a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA. Hayes and Merrell earned the honor for a second straight season.
