Olivet College women’s lacrosse team and three players earn IWLCA academic honors
The Olivet College women’s lacrosse team team and three players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team team and three players have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
With a 3.502 grade point average (GPA), the team has been named to the 2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad. To be eligible, the team must maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year. The Comets, who were one of 125 NCAA Division III schools to earn the award, received the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Team GPA award earlier this summer.
The individuals named to the 2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were Brittany Hayes (Battle Creek/Lakeview), Geri Merrell (Battle Creek/Lakeview) and Gabbi Vercher (Olivet). The trio was among 363 student-athletes from 126 different institutions to earn this honor. To be eligible, the student-athlete must have achieved junior status academically and have a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA.
