Olivet College’s Inman and Morssinkhof tabbed All-MIAA in women’s lacrosse
Olivet College junior Mackenzie Inman (Union City) and freshman Nina Morssinkhof (Utrecht, Netherlands/St. Bonifatius) have been named to the 2014 All-MIAA second-team for women’s lacrosse
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Mackenzie Inman (Union City) and freshman Nina Morssinkhof (Utrecht, Netherlands/St. Bonifatius) have been named to the 2014 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team for women's lacrosse. All-conference honors are based on a player's statistics during the eight-game league schedule.
Inman led the Comets with 28 goals and two assists for 30 points in MIAA play. She also won 25 draw controls and scooped up 20 ground balls, while taking 73 shots (50 on-goal). Morssinkhof was a part of the Comets' defense in all eight games, causing nine turnovers and recording 15 ground balls. For the entire 16-game schedule, Inman broke the single-season school records for goals (42), shots attempted (115) and shots on goal (82), and tied the single-season benchmark for points (45). Morssinkhof collected a single-season record 15 caused turnovers.
Olivet finished the season with a 4-12 record, with the four wins being the most in the short four-year history of the program. The Comets also broke team single-season records for points (138), goals (126), shots (350), draw controls (168) and free-position goals (46).
