Women’s lacrosse team doubled up at Alma, 20-10
The Olivet College women’s lacrosse team came up short against Alma College, 20-10, this afternoon at Bahlke Field in Alma.
ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team came up short against Alma College, 20-10, this afternoon at Bahlke Field in Alma.
The Scots scored three goals in the first three minutes and one second of the game. The Comets came back with a pair of goals in a 14-second span to trim their deficit down to one, 3-2. Alma netted four straight goals, including three for Ashton Street, to gain a 7-2 lead. After Olivet scored another goal, the Scots used another 4-0 run to take an 11-3 lead.
Junior Mackenzie Inman (Union City) scored with 41 seconds left before halftime to make the score 11-4 at the break. The Comets got no closer than seven during the second half after Inman found the back of the net with 16:55 remaining in the game.
Inman and junior Geri Merrell (Battle Creek/Lakeview) finished the game with four goals and eight shots apiece. Junior Taylor Guarnaccia (East Lansing/Haslett) had the two other goals to go along with seven shots and six draw controls. In goal, freshman Xavier Vance (West Bloomfield) made nine saves.
The Comets host Adrian College next Tuesday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m.
