The Olivet College women’s lacrosse team dropped an 18-2 decision to non-conference foe Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-2 decision to non-conference foe Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Yellow Jackets led 12-0 at halftime. BW added another goal at the start of the second half. Junior Taylor Guarnaccia (East Lansing/Haslett) answered for the Comets five seconds later. After winning the draw, she raced down the field and scored an unassisted goal. Following another Yellow Jacket goal, junior Mackenzie Inman (Union City) tallied an unassisted goal to make the score 14-2. BW scored the final four goals of the game.
For the game, Olivet recorded wins on 13 of the 22 draw controls, with Guarnaccia picking-up seven. She and junior Geri Merrell (Battle Creek/Lakeview) each took seven shots. Guarnaccia placed five on-net, while Merrell had two on-goal. In goal, freshman Xavier Vance (West Bloomfield) collected six saves.
The Comets will play their final non-league game Friday afternoon when they host Southwestern (Tex.) University at 5 p.m.
